Mother Earth
I painted the Earth the way I feel her, soft and wide open, blues that hold everything, and the warm golden land masses pushing through like she's always trying to come back to herself. The edges are rough and layered because that's honest, she takes a lot, we all do, but at her center there is still this quiet. Still this wholeness. I kept coming back to that while I was painting, the idea that no matter how much damage is done, she keeps showing up, keeps healing, keeps holding us. The palette chose itself really, sky blues, sage, ochre, ash, the colors of something ancient and patient.
